It's a Two-fer this Tuesday.

this is a Two-fer today.  Nothing special about the #LoungeLizard.  Last weekend I took part is a bit of neighbor watching.  Since I live on the road to the beach, we can just sit in our swing out front and watch them walk by.  Sometimes we wonder what y'all are up to, and since we don't know, we guess (tee hee)

you can get a copy of the chameleon here

The second part is I finally finished my chameleon.  So what does this clever little fellow do when he is set in front of pink and yellow flowers.  He has already been proven to adapt to blues, greens and browns.  Just how adaptable is that skin of his?  How adaptable are you when you aren't in your natural element?

OK people, play nice!

I read the news with this morning's cup of coffee.  As usual, there was much to get distressed over.  But the sun was rising and the day looks very pretty and I can't do anything to change the happenings far and away. (wouldn't you like to hang a few people by their shoelaces to the ceiling  until they come to their senses)  So instead I'll do what I can do here, work on something delightful and creative.

here comes trouble

Here is a quote, " I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world"... yeah, this is supposed to have been said by Jesus, although paraphrased. The reference is John 16:33

No matter how hard we try to fix things there is always still trouble.  After at least ten thousand years of civilization we still have stubborn problems that just won't go away.  Some are not our fault.  Much of it consequences of our own choices.

Is this reason to give up?  Nah.  You are still here.  Keep up the good work.  And if you believe like me, a few thousand years from now we'll be hanging out laughing and saying "remember all that stuff we used to worry about?"  God is good.

considering traps

In the recent news there is a story about three women who were kidnapped as teens and have been trapped in a home for a decade or more.  One of them finally got the chance to escape.   Everyone feels glad that these missing people are now found and free but the unspoken question is, why didn't they just walk out the door and run home?  They weren't that far away from where they were picked up.  Over the years there must have been chances.

Consider this, not all traps have locks on them.  How many times have you found yourself in a situation that you felt trapped in?  You might have not liked, even hated, your life in the trap but you had a life.  Perhaps you even tried to make the inside of the trap nicer.  Maybe you even felt like "I've made my bed, now I have to lie in it".  It may take awhile, most likely years, before you realize the trap won't improve.  It was a trap when you went in and it will always be a trap and eventually you'll die in that trap.  That is when you truly start looking for real ways to escape.

The important thing is that when you get out of your trap not to get into another one.  After all, life inside of a trap is what you know.  Grow in your freedom.  Find wisdom and learn how to live outside in the fresh air.

Just keep smiling

It is easy to keep a smile on your face when you aren't the one getting into hot water from simple foolishness.  Of course, then your friends who are dealing with consequences can get pretty annoyed with you.  Avoid the very tempting "Ha Ha, told you so".

what, me worry?

Sure, if I gave this guy a bible he's probably make a mess of it trying to turn the pages.  He doesn't really have thumbs after all and he'd probably leave it in the dirt.   This is a simple lizards re-telling of Philippians 4:6-7

Moving along nicely

If I ignore the news on television and find some cool video to play while I am drawing, it makes time time working on this chap go by at a nice pace.
I had been watching Penny Arcade's Strip Search on YouTube but I've gotten to the last episode.  Maybe I'll use an audio book from the library next.
